For my final project, my partner and I improved and built upon our previous game, “Overcast,” a 2D platformer with shoot em’ up features. I learned that there are so many different variations of game archetypes that can influence the creation of games. Everyone has their own unique idea of what kind of game they want to make and share with others, which is very motivating and encourages me to try even harder on my game as well. The material from class helped guide me in creating my game and what assets and mechanics to include and exclude for future releases, in order to meet deadlines. The part that I found most interesting though was the Unity demos and learning about the different tools and techniques you can use to make your vision of your game reality. The final presentations opened my eyes to the beauty in creating Pixel Art, which I will definitely do more of in the future. Overall, this class was amazing and I want to say thank you to Professor Morgan for teaching this class.
